因经营婚介公司失败而背上一身债务照川祥子(尾野真千子饰)，带着失落绝望的心情来到了风光旖旎的度假胜地——印度尼西亚的巴厘岛。她原打算跳海自杀一了百了，谁知关键时刻被一个奇怪的日本人阿龙(玉木宏饰)叫停。跟随阿龙，祥子见到了一个自称“大哥”的男人(堤真一
饰)。大哥眉毛光秃，脖子上挂着粗粗的金链子，T恤上印着大大的“大哥”罗马拼音“ANIKI”。任谁来看这个大哥都是一个粗俗肤浅、毫无内涵的平凡大叔，谁又曾想到他竟是依靠不动产起家、手下拥有30多家企业的百万富豪！
  
  
为了偿还债务，重建人生，祥子拜入大哥门下，希望学习成为有钱人的要领诀窍。谁知所学净是“即使失败也要微笑”、“每天都要祈愿”一类的励志哲学。日常里则是在豪宅内打扫厕所、练习微笑和打招呼、思考供品的搭配等小事务，祥子不禁感叹自己离富翁之梦越来越远。
  
  
在与大哥和阿龙接触的过程中，祥子不知不觉改变了曾经凡事埋怨周围人、推卸责任的思维方式，同时也了解到了这两个男人的一些事情。阿龙当初在日本一度拥有成为杰出医生的光明未来，但和大哥邂逅后毅然选择了在异国他乡担任眼科医生为孩子们驱除黑暗的人生。在此期间，曾是祥子公司客人的杉田(中村直人饰)尾随着祥子的脚步来到巴厘岛。他起初反感大哥自信自满的性格，不过在接触过程中渐渐被对方所吸引。祥子在接受大哥指导的过程中，逐渐产生了在巴厘岛建造幼儿园的想法。
  
  
当所有人的命运都朝着光明之路行进时，意外事件突然发生。大哥最为信赖的部下突然叛变，幼儿园的建设也撞上暗礁。一向乐观的大哥面临前所未有的巨大挑战…
