Description:
The feudal, 16th-century Japan is plagued by wars and itinerant gangs.
One of these gangs has targeted the harvest of a small farming village, but the gang members decide not to come back if there was harvested.
A villager heard this conversation, however.
The oldest village recommends a number of villagers to seek unemployed samurai who want to defend the village in exchange for food.
They found an older, moeg act samurai, who has sympathy for the defenseless villagers and their request starts.
These recruits five other samurai and can even count on an initially unwanted companion: the inexperienced, but confident Kikuchiyo.
The others are experienced fighters, but they know that a large force majeure must defy.

Het feodale, 16e-eeuwse Japan wordt geteisterd door oorlogen en rondtrekkende bendes.
Een van die bendes heeft het gemunt op de oogst van een klein boerendorp, maar de bendeleden besluiten pas terug te komen als er geoogst is.
Een dorpeling hoort dit gesprek echter.
De dorpsoudste beveelt een aantal dorpsgenoten op zoek te gaan naar werkloze samoerai, die het dorp willen verdedigen in ruil voor voedsel.
Zij vinden een oudere, moegestreden samoerai, die sympathie heeft voor de weerloze dorpelingen en op hun verzoek ingaat.
Deze rekruteert vijf andere samoerai en kan zelfs rekenen op een aanvankelijk ongewenste metgezel: de onervaren, maar zelfbewuste Kikuchiyo.
De anderen zijn ervaren strijders, maar weten dat zij een grote overmacht moeten trotseren.
