In een post-apocalyptische wereld komt Thomas nadat zijn geheugen is gewist terecht in een gemeenschap van jonge mannen. Als hij ontdekt dat ze gevangen zitten in een doolhof, sluit Thomas zich aan bij de "runners". Niet alleen om uit het labyrinth te ontsnappen, maar ook om het geheim dat schuil gaat achter hun lot te ontrafelen.
